The Child Center Residential Treatment Facility (RTF)is a coeducational program in a warm, supportive environment that serves young people ages 12-18 who have had multiple psychiatric hospital placements or have been involved with the juvenile justice system. It is the only downstate RTF in the state that is a dual NYS Office of Mental Health/Office of Children and Family Services facility. We never consider it too late to give young people the help they need, and we are pleased to partner with these two agencies to ensure the young people in our care have the skills and support they need to achieve long-term success. Reflecting The Child Center’s dedication to comprehensive care, the RTF is staffed by clinical coordinators, psychiatric providers, a pediatrician, and 24-hour nursing staff, 24 hour youth advocates. Supports are individualized and tailored to the needs of the young people.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Direct clinical services for caseload of 8-12 youth in the Brooklyn RTF, including completion of clinical assessments, treatment plans, discharge planning and conferences as required by the Office of Mental Health and clinical best practicesProvide individual and family therapy as required to meet individualized goals for each youth on caseloadAct as lead of treatment team for individual caseload ensuring clear, consistent communication between all disciplines, including but not limited to, psychiatric provider, medical team, milieu and administrationIn partnership with the Unit Leader, provide supervision for Youth Advocates and Senior Youth Advocates of at least 1 unit, geared towards integration of mental health, rehabilitative services and clinical best practices into the milieuSupport the foundational practices Sanctuary and TCI via training and skills including, but not limited to, community and red flag meetingsCollaborate with systems throughout NYS and NYC including ACS, various county DSS teams, DJJOY, etc.Provide transitional services post discharge for at least 6 months including community referrals, family and individual sessions with client and transitionary/collaborative conferences with aftercare providers.Other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree in Social Work.NYS LMSW/LCSW/LMFT/LMHCExperience working with Mental Health/Psychiatric facility Documented performance of exceptional problem-solving skills.Prior experience working with adolescentsProficient in MS Office The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status or any other category protected by Federal, State or local law.
